See roughly how much tax you could save — and how much extra lands in your super — by salary sacrificing before-tax income. Concessional contributions are taxed at just 15% going into super, versus your marginal rate on take-home pay.
Estimated tax saved / year
$3,700
Extra into super (after 15% tax)$8,500
Reduction in take-home pay$6,300
Concessional cap room used$22,000 / $32,500
How to read this
The tax saved is the difference between paying your marginal rate on that money and the 15% contributions tax. The extra into super is what actually lands in your account after the 15% is taken out. Because employer SG uses part of your $32,500 cap, your room to sacrifice is the cap minus SG.
